Specialist Services:

From 1 July 2011, 11 new MBS items will be available for specialist video consultations provided by specialists, consultant physicians and consultant psychiatrists. These new items allow a range of existing MBS attendance items to be provided via video conferencing:

Patient-End Services

From 1 July 2011, 23 new MBS items will be available for patient-end services provided to a patient during their video consultation with a specialist, consultant physician or consultant psychiatrist. These new items are face-to-face consultations and patient-end practitioners are to provide clinical support to the patient during their video conference consultation.

Please note that the Practice Nurse items will be reviewed following the introduction of the Practice Nurse Incentive Program which commences in 1 January 2012.
